This World War 2 computer wallpaper shows a scene from the D-Day operation that took place in Normandy. Here you see the Omaha Beach, at low tide, where the allies are putting cargo ashore. This was during the first day of operation in June of 1944. I tried to take some of the graininess out of the image to make it more clear and suitable to use as an image; however, this is based on a very old picture and only so much correction can be done. A salute to the soldiers that made it possible for us to enjoy the freedoms we have today. |
